I have been working on illustrations of the Jungle Book with an eye towards retelling some of the stories for early readers. This book meant a lot to me as a little girl, so it was a lovely challenge to return to the jungle of my childhood imaginings and try to capture it as an adult.

When I was little I drew Mowgli's jungle on more than one occasion. I remember that I used purples, blues, and teals when I first tried to capture the jungle, so I tried to stick with my old color palate when I did these new illustrations.
